Robert Gregory MD spoke to YNN about the New York SAFE Act and the concerns of mental health providers, who will be required to report patients they believe might do harm to themselves or others.
“It may be a little misdirected. It’s probably going to do more harm than good,” Gregory said during the interview. “It can be very difficult to predict who is going to be violent toward others or not.”
Gregory, a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, is the interim chair of the department at Upstate.
